Nearly 45% of all Canadians reside in Ontario, the province with the highest population in the country. Toronto, Canada’s largest city, and Ottawa, its capital, are both located in Ontario. The most popular destination for immigrants to Canada is, by far, Ontario. In 2007, the Ontario PNP, formally known as the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), went into effect.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Programme (OINP), a component of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP), is the province of Ontario’s system for integrating newcomers. The Toronto PNP is another name for Ontario’s economic immigration program, which collaborates with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on behalf of the federal government of Canada.
The PNP enables Ontario to match the talents of immigrants to the needs of Ontario employers and the labor market. It enables Ontario to recommend individuals for permanent residence status, with IRCC expediting their application. IRCC will continue to carry out crucial tasks like security, police, and medical checks on every candidate. When immigrants apply directly to the federal government, this is a different and additional path and process.
The permanent resident nomination program for Ontario is called the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
The OINP is intended to support economic growth by luring new investment and assisting companies in specific industries in finding and keeping skilled workers for positions where there is currently a demand on the labor market.
